Yes Wayne I remember it well but I am not guilty because my name is now Frank Pinder and not Ross Pinder. Ian Harwood rings a bell but as Im getting pretty old now, dementia could be setting in. I think the boys senior prefects were responsible for releasing the vehicle much to our displeasure. I also think Sparks was the senior prefect responsible. They were great days. I would repeat everyone again if I had the chance especially rugby and cricket days that were fun. As this is a fluke that I am in this website, if youd like to make direct contact it would be better to go directly to my email (h.pinder@ace.ac.nz). I dont usually go to this site. Hope all is well with you,and all our peer delinquants Ross (alias Frank)

It was on the last day of the 1958 School year. Ross Pinder, myself & several others lifted Frank Colemans little Baby Austin up the steps of what used to be the Art Wing & bounced it along the corridor. It left no room at either end so when one of the Coe teachers came along he opened the door & walked through. the skit on stage was pretty close with only the ownership of the car in error. I would like to find the others involved. Frank Coleman was a nice Teacher but it was one of those schoolboy pranks & he happened to be the one on the rough end. I would also like to know how he got it out, so if anyone can help I would be much obliged. Wayne

Wayne, when was the "Coe Car Caper"? I spoke to Jim's brother and sister-in-law about the reunion, but I guess they didn't follow it up. They're in Rotorua now. I think there will be a lot of email address lists flying around after the weekend! I'm setting one up for the 61ers from the L1 class, so if anybody wants to be on it please email me at jauh2o@xtra.co.nz and I'll include you.
Cheers,
Janet.

What a great time I had. Well worth the trip from England to meet all my "old" schoolmates again including those involved in the "Coe car caper". Going back this Fri & will set up the Email addresses everyone gave me so I can keep in touch. Bye for now, see you again in 10 years time. Wayne Roylance

Nothing there yet from a '61er. I flew down from Akld and thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends and viewing a lot of the archival photos etc. Only one very minor gripe about the activities: the photographer running so far ahead of schedule on Saturday meant that a number of people missed out on being in the year group photos. A pity, but only a minor glitch! Someone asked about the concert - I thought the Barbershop Quartet was the highlight of the show! Regards, Janet.

Well, that was a wonderful, nostalgic, mega-excessive weekend. Thanks to the organisers and to all the people who made the effort to turn up; especially the ones who traveled from afar. And Paddy C, getting the Ad Alta logo tatooed on your arm was, um, an awesome gesture to the past (kinda looks like a bike gang logo eh?). Good to see you, Libby et al, all the best back in Oz. Also ta for the site Liane; enjoy Mr. Curry. And relax Doug C, your exploits on Friday night will not be repeated by me!! (Shame about Miss Purvis).

Yes Alison(gosh using first names here!!!) it was great to catch up with you also and all the sea of faces and names that continued to jump in front of me....some remembered some totally forgotten and some memory bubbles breaking to the front :o)

I had a great time and was impressed with the continuing HVHS ethos of "ad alta" shown in the work of the current students displayed around the school. I was also impressed with the dress and manners of the current students I encountered, proudly wearing the school uniform. Congratulations to all the organisers. Lloyd Olivecrona 70-74

This was indeed a memorable occasion which has left me exhausted and exhilarated. I'm hoarse from so much talking. I appreciated the opportunity to meet so many former students and enjoyed their company. I know I missed some and would like to exhange emails to catch up. The organisation was superb and the opportunity provided by the message board was appreciated. I can be reached at whiteman99@paradise.net,nz Best wishes Alan

Don't forget to come back next week to note down all your gossip of the weekends activities.
Try to keep this in a kind frame of mind. we are no longer teens.....
At the request of several people we will keep this messageboard running, so that you can keep in touch and maybe run into past pupils that missed the opportunity to get to the reunion.
